The M2 group is miniscule in North/East Africa, I doubt Arabs managed to erase the genetic footprint of that haplogroup in those regions that much. Even in Ethiopia the incidence of the M2 group is basically 4%.You should know that Arabs invaded North/East Africa around 600 AD so of course that haplogroup would not be found. That same genetic marker is high in sub-saharan Africans, like you said West and Central, but is also found in Black Horners and Nile Valley people (Alex Wek)...
It seems much more likely that majority of the M2 group, migrated through Central Africa to West Africa and expanded outside of East Africa, while a small minority stayed in Ethiopia or migrated North to Egypt. Point is the haplogroup that links us back to East Africa originated from Ethiopia, not Egypt. So saying Igbo people are descendants of Egyptians is a dumb stretch to make, there is little to no evidence supporting that.
Like I said at most we share common ancestors.
