I'm still amazed by how the CGI in Jurassic Park still looks better than Modern films

The cgi was done by ilm, but that pic isn't cgi. It's obvious which scenes are cgi and which ones use animatronics. The brachiosaur at the beginning when they first get to the park is cg, the galliminus chase is cg. The t-rex and most of the raptors are animatronics.

That movie was bullshyt all around. I hold james cameron in high regard, but that movie was final fantasy pocahontas. Cant believe i bought that dvd.

As far as jurassic park and most spielberg productions, the cgi is top notch. I still think war of the worlds has some of the best cgi ever done.

CGI is so good now that most people don't even know that the movie is using CGI. For example, the entire fight scene at the end of Avengers was shot in a studio in New Mexico and all of NYC that was being destroyed was CGI. No one watching the movie when I did noticed that the entire city was CGI shot in a sound studio in New Mexico.
