I'm still amazed by how the CGI in Jurassic Park still looks better than Modern films

Jurassic Park was years ahead of it's time. We were studying some of those effects in my new media class in college and that was like 94-95. I just rewatched the movie and the CGI still looks quite good.

a lot of that wasn't CGI, it was good ole fashioned animatronics. kind of wish hollywood stuck with that over CGI, comes out way more realistic.

I came in just to point this out. Animatronics.......let me rephrase.....good animatronics, touched up with some CGI here and there is always the way to go. That was part of the reason I liked Underworld so much.

For its time it was excellent but nikkas saying the "cgi" is better then todays movies need to rewatch the movie in hd

Wouldn't say it's better than today's CGI, but the T. Rex chasing the jeep?? Raptors attacking the T. Rex at the end?? Terrible??? No.

still my personal all time favorite movie ever. so ill admit biased, but i watch this movie at least once a year and this movies effects hold up to many of todays films. a testament to how ahead of its time T2 was. Ill admit Jurassic Park is right up there too
