Melo was arguably the best player during the 2012 run 
I was surprised initially that he signed up for 2016, I figured that he's in his 30's now and already has two gold medals so he'd probably want his summers off. But then I realized there's a good chance he won't ever win a ring, might as well rack up on gold medals

International ball is perfect for melo. He is a great NBA player but a gawd in international play. With the three line being short. Most international 4s being slower than him and the 4 and 5 spots not being athletic. There is no one outside of team USA that has the players to guard him.
Also when team USA has lost in international play it was always because they would go cold outside. Melo stays hot with that short 3 line.
Because hes not surrounded by the likes of the 2014-15 New York Knicks Roster....
He actually has FUN playing basketball there
