How did you figure out what worked for you? Just run through the popular ones until one stuck?

I got a rotation of some popular and some not popular, but yea basically. To get ideas I got different sources:
1. Go to the dept store (Nordstrom, NM, Macy’s, Dillards, etc) and trying out new scents and researching the ones that catch my nose to make sure they project how I want and last.
2. A lot of the homies are scent heads, so just general discussion on what we been on lately.
3. Women be knowing.
4. Online communities.
Once you realize what kinda notes match your profile, you can narrow down to what you like. Some ppl will buy shyt online without even smelling it, just by the notes and reviews. Seems like it works out, but I’d rather not waste hundreds on a scent that ends up not being for me.
Also, different notes match different seasons. You might want something more woody and warm for the fall and winter, vs something fresher/sweeter for this time of year when it’s nicer out.
But at the end of the day it all comes down to doing the legwork to figure out what works best for you. Once you got some signatures you tend to gravitate to, you can find them on sale in different online spots.

Save yourself the trouble and just buy Sauvage.
Trying to find something that 1) puts broads on their knees, 2) wearable at the office, and 3) makes you feel happy all at the same time is impossible.
There are tens of thousands of colognes out there (3500-4000 get released every year) - and you'll spend a lifetime and a fortune trying to find some magical signature scent.
Don't be one of these cats trying to smell "unique" but they end up smelling like beaver urine.
