This is true but the point of the thread is how different would not only the world but we be without the influence of hip hop through our formative years?
I've never subscribed to the "Its only entertainment" camp as music is the strongest force on Earth when it comes to generating/moving emotion (Energy in motion). The points in the OP highlight this with some of the effects from its cause. Really blew my mind when I stopped to think about it as the implications are immense.
I can't imagine a world without hip hop.
hip hop was the 1st music I identified with as a young kid growing up in the nineties especially as a young black kid growing up in America. without hip hop, musically I would not exist.
