I got into jazz heavy a few years ago and started listening to a certain jazz station and would sometimes hear songs by a whiteboy named Jarrod Lawson (had no idea he was white when I first heard him):



Dude is extremely talented and can sing his a55 off but I had to do some soul searching within myself because I just didn't like this whiteboy making "black music" and doing it extremely well.

Like, I would hear his songs but the fact that he's white wouldn't let me fully enjoy it.

I presume it was because of the conservative nature of time.:francis: Being seen to dance to "Negro Music" was frowned upon, heavily.
