I agree, and the WWE didn't have to do that back then because they had built a plethora of stars...they had to, otherwise they would've gotten killed by WCW.

But we can't get legends lasting in the rumble for more than 4 mins...

I mean given it was the peak and they acquired WCW, that would be a cool moment .....but Id also like it to be in that gimmick battle royale that year to clean house and give a welcome back curtain call.

Not burying new talent

I love the legends as much as t he next guy, but the WWE reeeaaaallllyyy needs to stop relying on them so much.
I don't see why they can't do this at one of the other 11+ PPVs they have per year. We don't need to see the same ones hogging up the WM spotlight year after year

Just stop it already, these wrestlers have the place all to themselves 364 days a year and can't draw this much attention. Having legends there one night hurts no one, and before y'all try to bring up Bray just remember they buried him long before tonight. They didn't need to bring legends to the past Manias because they had a loaded roster of superstars, legit stars who were appearing in tv shows, movies, & late night talk shows.

I was there. This wrestlemania would have been shyt without the legends. Best parts of the show. Loudest pops of the show. With all these injuries, they had to do that.

It really didn't have to be. They could've put either Joe/Balor or Sami/Nakamura at Mania instead of the Friday night show. They could've had a regular match for the IC title with KO fighting Sami (assuming they put Joe/Balor on), Ziggler or Ryder. There's no real reason for Jericho to get the win over AJ Styles other than to stick it to him for establishing his stardom outside of the WWE. Why did Austin/Foley/HBK have to come out to take out the newly crowned tag champions? They couldn't have a segment backstage or comeout in the ring to bullshyt like Austin/Hogan/Rock did the previous Mania? Why did Shane have to wrestle the Undertaker instead of a younger superstar representing Shane to give him a push?

And in all honesty, how can these guys build any momentum whatsoever when they lose to a guy who can't be bothered to show up the next night on RAW?
