MJ wasn't playing for a god damn thing other than entertainment, a last chance at playing the game, and money.

Not trying to snap on you per se, this thread is utterly retarded though.

I don't ever remember Kobe sitting out games in the 2008 or 2009 when they were in the championship hunt to "rest".

Stop acting like what we're seeing now in this pussified NBA is normal. It never happened back in the day.

Jordan and Kobe played every game they were healthy. I don't remember them ever sitting out for rest when they were in their primes.

I remember Kobe saying that he wouldn't sit out game unless he absolutely had to especially on the road just because he wanted to put on a show for the road fans...

He was fighting this rest shyt last year when he was 37 years old and playing on fumes.

Remember what he did in 2012-13 at 34 years old before he blew out his achilles? Dude played 38+ minutes in almost every game. And he was putting up 27-6-6 at that age. He wasn't sitting out games to rest. He was out there looking like young Kobe dunking on everyone. Remember those were the Vino days.

I don't remember ever seeing Kobe sit out a game for rest till he blew out his achilles in 2013. I remember in 2011 there was a big deal made out of the fact he wasn't practicing cause his knees were hurt. But he played in every game.

That's how crazy Kobe was. He was pissed in 2011 that he couldn't practice everyday. I don't think he would have allowed himself to sit out games where he is perfectly healthy when he was 32 years old.

You do realize LeBron's had a load that is unseen at 32 years old we're talking 40,000+ minutes...

:heh:

Jordan better play all 82 , dude was taking off entire years with retirements.

Kobe has had roughly the same load in terms of minutes played early in his career like LeBron and he never took games off to rest. It took Bryon Scott begging Kobe last year at age 37 coming off 3 major surgeries for him to take days off to "rest". Kobe always wanted to play every game of every season.

Kobe never took games off to rest when he was competing for championships.

Stop trying to defend this. What is happening now with players missing games to rest eventhough they are completely healthy is unprecedented in NBA history. It never happened in the past. Never.

For Kobe maintance and rest happened in practice when he got old. Not in the games.
The 2nd half of that season ended Kobe's career. Still pissed about that. Ran his ass into the ground because of the shyt team he had.

Bron ain't stupid though. He watched and learned.

This shyt is trash man what has the league become its back to back games i can understand sitting out the laker game tomorrow but to sit this one out like wtf. I was going to go to the game my homies came down from the bay figured he would sit out tomorrow i get the alert they all sitting out tonight like why. Its a major disservice i don't respect it and that's just my opinion LBJ can hoop but he don't have the same compassion I personally want in the face of the league. If he injured cool but just resting for no reason :hhh:

No. LeBron's workload by age 32 is unprecedented all them regular seasons, playoffs, and Olympics have him at over 40,000 minutes played.

Kobe didn't even start until his third year and he's never had LeBron's durability. He had a handful of 65 game seasons because of this.

A lot of 2000's stars like Kobe, T-Mac, Wade, A.I. had their careers shortened because they insisted on playing all 82 at 40 minutes a night. I really thought Kobe could play till 40.
