Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
The thing about the subway or any form of public transportation is that it's better to have it as an option instead of the only way to get around along with your feet. I know there's folks who are 30 something years old who never got a drivers license relying upon the subway and bus. :picard: that sounds crazy to me. If something happens where they need to rent a car and drive, how are they gonna manage to get around? I really never understood that.

It's funny how there's people in NYC that keep thinking that the world outside the five boros are the same. Probably wouldn't even be able to manage somewhere like westchester, new Jersey or Connecticut. I can't live my life like that being dependent on public transportation. It's cool to ride on the subway or the bus once in awhile but for me, I do it as a reminder of what my only option was to get around at one point. To be grateful and remember what I shouldn't be taken for granted.

I get what you’re saying I’ve been driving a car since 21 and have been licensed since 18.

My sister is 27 and still has no license. The people who get comfortable here don’t feel the need for one, and now with uber and Lyft it’s even worse.

I live in Midwood so far on the overnight weekdays trains have been good.

Q train on Saturdays is the WOAT. So much construction that the Q can’t even run express and they have to use those silly shuttle buses.

the construction bullshyt is the WOAT...:hhh: they be doing that on the weekends with the E train and i'm like... :why: They still not finished???

And there's talk they want to take away the R train???:what:

Sometimes it can be for simple shyt that doesn’t involve doing nothing on the train tracks itself. Also the Q train is crowded on weekends. They should really think about putting the B in service on the weekends.

I rode the DC Metro everyday for a year. Rush hour traffic to the Metro stop, find a parking spot, and then ride a crowded ass train. Rinse and repeat 8 hours later. :camby:After 6 months I knew it wasn't for me.

Metro is only good if you can walk or take a bus to the stop. Driving to a station ain't it.

A sub 15 min walk to the station though :ahh:

@ORDER_66 the R train is useless except for the Bay Ridge area but the MTA is stupid to even think of that because getting rid of a line will haunt them.

NYC got ride of the third Ave elevated line and now they regret it since the East Side is not that great train wise.

Uber. But most people that grew up outside of Manhattan has a driver license I bet. I didn't get one till I was like 21.

Uber is a recent invention. Just me speaking for myself, I don't like the idea of being dependent upon other people to move around. It's a REALLY uncomfortable feeling. Over time I've had horror stories about that shyt. One time I ended up 5 hours late to a job interview because the bus drivers wanted to be dikks and not pick people up on the bus. Then the one that did decided to go the long way. I always hear people complaining about the bus, the train and etc. The ones that Crack me up the most are the people who CHOOSE to move into NYC and stay in such neighborhood to be cool not doing their research on that shyt. Folks acting like the subway was always nice when it never was. The only thing that's great about the subway is the engineering and architecture that they used to make it which is art in itself. That shyt is a real 9th wonder of the world. No other subway system in the world can compare to that shyt. As a kid, that shyt would amaze me to the point where I remember everything about it. The trackwork and etc. I even had a subway map around here from 94 and had one from 1990. Those joints were dope but then they made those maps got wack when they must have change the print...those were the days.

You guys have to stop speaking on shyt you know nothing about. Millions and millions of people use public transportation here as their only form of transportation. During normal hours, it’s fast and reliable. People who live in nyc aren’t thinking about transportation anywhere else because y’all don’t matter.

Sorry don't know about you but I couldn't see myself being in crowded ass NYC my whole life. fukk that shyt especially now with all those suburbanites or gentrifiers thinking that struggle life shyt is cool. So they doing everything to go in reverse but having the option to go back to their burbs when they feel like it. Sorry but no. You can enjoy that shyt if that's what you like.

My area isn’t crowded thank god. But as a result I do have a 45 minute commute!

big cities in general are becoming more crowded.

San Fran for example is smaller than DC in land size and I think they just reached 1 million people. DC also hit 700K I think?

Cities is the wave now B!

I’m 28 and I remember the r40 slants only because the bright express orange Q and diamond yellow Q and B used them by my house.

Remember when the Q got the r32 after 9/11.

That was a good experience.
