I think it's more than artistic talent to be fair. There are plenty of talented rappers. There are plenty that sold more records than him. I think he got rich because he knew when to bey on himself and when to align with certain people. If you notice, he was also never really into drugs, never had multiple kids out of wedlock (that we know of) and the businesses he invested in he knew how to promote within his music. I wouldn't necessarily say his rapping talent is what made him a billionaire.

But none of the advice he gives you will apply unless you are capable of being a platinum recording artist as well. Meaning the only people that should be taking advice from him are other rappers who are trying to go from millionaire to billionaire. I've learned lately that no such thing exists. Its only a talent deficit within such trades.


I used to clown gender studies and black studies students and professors until last week. NPR did an exposè on the cig industry in relation to black people. Turns out the most talented folks in those inherently useless disciplines were paid handsomely in the 60s, 70s, and 80s to get menthol cigarettes from the mega cig firms into black male pockets .


The specificity at which they could target their demographic socially, geographically, economically, etc is mind boggling because of their meticulous study of us . Its to the extent that within a heterogenous city, they could angle blackmale billboards in such a manner that they wouldn't be visible to their white clients, but would be clearly visible to the rec centers, corner stores, and workplaces frequented by black men.
