I got sick of Queens Blood. I beat the ghost of the founder and abandoned the quest line. He was at the haunted hotel. Not gonna lie I didn’t totally understand all the rules but it let you reset with no penalty and I had a card that gave 10 bonus points when you won a row and a chocobo baby card that gave +3 if you won. I made it work.

That final battle at the tournament on the boat was probably the most entertaining moment in the entire game. Feel bad for the people who missed it.
The Final Boss of Queens Blood was rather weird as it completely changed up the gameplay from the previous opponents. Not to mention the cheap tactic that game them a leg up before the game even started.

None of the other opponents prior would have prepared you for it.

16 definitely had the better story and set pieces.

Rebirth feels like a lot of unnecessary busy work between big story beats. The good combat distracts you from the monotony until it can't anymore.
I did playthrough new game plus and skipped all the mini games. And the game it felt like you were traveling way too quickly from set piece to set piece.
Like you in under junon for 1 single boss fight with a fish monster, A convo with roche than you move on.
In upper junon for a parade, a boss fight with roche, then you moving on.

For comparison, If felt like the shinra building in remake was basically 4 hours with no side quest filler.

got like 80 hours in and stopped playing. when the whispers came back in the story I lost a lot of interest. I really hated them in remake, thought it was a lazy ass story device and thought that game would be the end of it but welp :martin: I'll go back to it one day

people saying the XVI story was better is wild tho, a couple good moments didn't make up for the bland cast and blatant GoT ripoff shyt. but I did finish it :yeshrug:

I mean XVI is a complete story while Rebirth is a middle chapter.

They did OD on the mini games.

I really enjoyed queens blood tho, they gotta run that back in the next one.

Everything else i wasn't a fan of. (I know chocobo will be included but that was very annoying to me)

The one where you had to glide the Chocobo to the fan lifts was insane.

The world traversal in this game was bonkers. This doesn't feel like a world people actually live in. Maybe coming from Trails of Daybreak to this made me focus on that fact but traveling between towns for anyone other than a video game protagonist seemed impossible.

That's always been the case for Final Fantasy games. Who in their right mind is just going out and about into this world? It never makes sense for someone to leave their town to travel.
