i quit playing almost immediately. i might go back to it later this year, LOL
It's a challenging game to play. Overboard on minigames. Lots of busy work side content. Also its a middle child game where the story doesn't really start or finish in the game.

If you get too distracted it's easy to get burned out playing it. Might be easier to follow the main plot and skip optional stuff.

nah breh you literally in OT rn complaining about how tedious it is... anyone but you :heh:
The stuff I said there I’ve said here. That doesn’t make the game boring. You can just play the main story and ignore much of the side content as I started doing about 2/3 of the way through.

Yeah they went overboard with minigames and bland busy work to pad the game length to close to 100 hours. The actual story is about 40 or so hours of content and you don’t more than double the playtime with high quality not redundant content. Other than the Cait Sith part the main story was solid.

No, all the side content.
Monotonous but not straight up bad. I only got sort of tired of doing extra stuff by the time I was in Cosmo Canyon region. By then, I just continued with the main content which you can always do. The critiques about the optional stuff is overblown because it's not like you're told "do XYZ side quests" to pass time for the story to continue. Even the queens blood shyt you can skip. Like someone can enjoy the story from start to finish without ever having to do anything monotonous.

I enjoyed 16 but it was all spectacule. Pretty much “baby’s first DMC”

Rebirth is a much more complete experience and better game, imo. Especially in regards to the RPG elements.

I could see why some might prefer 16 tho.

I got sick of Queens Blood. I beat the ghost of the founder and abandoned the quest line. He was at the haunted hotel. Not gonna lie I didn’t totally understand all the rules but it let you reset with no penalty and I had a card that gave 10 bonus points when you won a row and a chocobo baby card that gave +3 if you won. I made it work.

That final battle at the tournament on the boat was probably the most entertaining moment in the entire game. Feel bad for the people who missed it.

XVI's highs were HIGH, amazing. Spectacular.
The combat though started to get a bit dry as it was just honestly too easy and felt like nothing else mattered cept rushing to stagger an enemy and try to get more damage in. Rebirth felt way more like a JRPG with enemy attributes and elements that mattered and affected gameplay.
