Good question.
It was Black owned in the 80s and 90s...Come the 2000s, it was really noticeable that lot of Black folks just left the area after the steel mills closed and jobs left the area, and East Liberty slowly started getting gentrified after the projects were torn down...then the gas stations and corner stores got taken over by Russians, Polish, Ukranians, and Indians and they shut Black people out of the game completely. There are no Black owned gas stations of corner stores like that anymore.

It was sad to witness.

Without massive immigration from Africa, the black population will only continue to shrink.

And you saw Donald Trump straight up banned African countries from immigrating here. This country doesn't want more Black People.

America has always made it harder for Africans and West Indians/Carribeans to come here than others. Even after all this time, black immigrants are only 10% of the Black American population and even less of the American population.

There really aren't that many of us first generation Africans and West Indians to make a real difference with numbers at all.

Reason black people need to be serious about creating and keeping families, getting their numbers up across the board.
