Dope album. I don't know what happened to him after this though. Hopefully that Madlib/Black Star LP will happen.

They sang songs to take their minds up off that fukked up situation:damn:

...I've been listening to this masterpiece:boss: alot lately:ohlawd:

20 yrs later:wow:
It's one of the few songs that didn't age at all

And it came out during a time in which rock was still the most popular adult contemporary choice of music.

Song seen through all of the bullshyt that Limp Bizkit and Korn was putting out.

SINY!!
The Ecstatic is a damn good album. Not very unlike BOBS....not as good obviously but like a 7.5/10

I thought Ecstatic was a great album. Im more like an 8/10. I do think had he followed up BOBS with this, it would have been better received. Ill never understand the recording process when was making True Magic & The New Danger. Those had potential but felt too all over the place.

I don't know why I bought this on tape because I was playing CDs back then but I used to walk around with the tape in my breast pocket. Like it was a part of my daily get up as a kid. :laff:

I still have that tape.

Ehhh I think that moniker should go to OB4CL but I'm not mad at this thread :ehh: :yeshrug:

This is the album you'd point to as the 'essence' of what you'd want a hip hop album to do.

album is the complete opposite of what the OP is saying.

corny album btw.
and he butchered a gang of old school hooks.

blackstarr shouldve been a permanent thing. i like that album.
cant get into either of them solo tho.

I think BOBS is incredible but "The New Danger" does not get the love it deserves.
So many fly ass tracks on that record man.

And Mos and his producers were really in love with Marvin Gaye around that time.
