Kanye don't even rate Sean this much.

He's cool but never put out anything mind blowing. id listen to Q, Ab Soul albums before Sean.

This new album with my baby Jhene sounding cool so far tho

One of the goat swag rappers (however niche that is) maybe

I think overall he's behind Wale by more than a few paces. I've listened to dude since the UKNOWBIGSEAN mixtape and as an artist he's progressed at a snails pace.

The Finally Famous album I think really defined him as an artist. He's in his element when he can just be cool and make use of his bars, flows, slick delivery and witty punchlines. Dude can really rap but he has a huge handicap with songwriting. For all his rapping ability he just doesn't have that much to talk about. He tired more introspection and serious shyt on more recent projects since Hall of fame on but those records rarely stick at best and are received as corny at worst. It's not really his lane but he did have more solid efforts bridging that gap on DSP.

He's a dude that can rap his ass off and hang with anyone with a feature verse but he rarely makes GREAT music himself. Most of his projects are just solid to good. The song writing is his achilles heel and his peers are lightyears ahead of him in that category. Kendrick and cole are thoughtful with their music, Drake has great introspection tracks and is diverse, Wale has the widest range with his songwriting out of the bunch. Sean is still in between swag rapping and mixed reception motivational raps. He has the tools to at least usurp someone like cole since they're similar in a lot of ways, it's just Sean music doesn't touch people at all the way cole does

That was the biggest improvement that he showed on his.last.album...

Also, he had a couple of his biggest hits on the last album so how.could you say the.songs don't stick?:what:

The sentence about songs sticking was in reference to the introspective songs. I also gave him credit for improving his songwriting in the same damn paragraph :why:Context nikka, read with your eyes

As far as hits IDFWU popped initially cause of the drama around the song. Blessings was pure quality and Drake helped was one of the few that showed some improvement in the songwriting. None of that other shyt stuck like that. Besides, isn't his biggest hit still Dance? That's about as Big sean as it gets.

How successful do you have to be to get respect as a young GOAT tho?

IDFWU is 3x Platinum... That ties "Dance" as his biggest record...but he also had a song go double platinum, and 3 more songs go gold and I think the album went Platinum also

Add that to his history of top 10 hip hop hits and just the overall quality of his pen and performance... Dude has an argument
