I didn't get back to our conversation yesterday (I plan to) but this right here might be your fault.

Ask yourself, are YOU the one constantly evoking these "leaders of a previous generation" every time you want to argue against some wave of black political thought on here that you don't agree with?

If I'm evoking leaders like the ones I mentioned in my OP, I'm doing so for a good reason. This shouldn't give people a pass to disregard the teachings of these leaders. And there have been times where people have thrown the accomplishments of our elders under the bus unprovoked.

We had a multipage thread here a couple months ago dissing John Lewis and calling him a "civil rights nikka" because some youtube personality was mad because he did a speech speaking about the separation of immigrant kids.
