Impostor busted for sneaking into Citi Field for Game 4
An impostor struck out in his effort to sneak onto the field and watch Game 4 of the World Series — despite some impressive conniving.
Joseph Ottomanelli, 48, of River Vale, N.J., clad in a green Aramark concessions jacket with three employee IDs hanging from his neck, piqued the suspicion of security as he stood on the grass while Mets players prepped before the Saturday game against the Kansas City Royals, according to a complaint filed in Queens Criminal Court.
Investigators soon pegged Ottomanelli as a phony and slapped him in cuffs. Surveillance footage showed him sneaking into an employees-only room in the stadium on Oct. 12 as the Mets faced the Los Angeles Dodgers and coming out with the jacket, the criminal complaint said. He posted $7,500 bail.
