In 10 or so years. How will we look back on the lebron run with the heat?

Say whatever you want but that run was entertaining as hell. The playoffs were packed with so much drama it was ridiculous. It was kinda cool having an "evil empire" in the NBA.. even though I think they got hated on wayyy too hard. I mean they were practically America's public enemy #1 during that era, it was crazy.

the drama of the 2011 meltdown... losing to the most UNLIKELY opponent. (in unacceptable fashion :smh:)

:lupe:Then 2012....
With Bosh out for basically the entire playoffs, EVERYONE was like  waiting for Bron to self-destruct again in game 6 facing elimination in the ECF against Boston.... then he ascended to straight GAWD level and buried em :banderas: Kept the momentum going demoted KD to servant status :wow:

....then the repeat...:ehh:......
followed by the Spurs reminding everyone that they were still the fxckin spurs.:yeshrug:

Looking back it was fun.:jbhmm: But I think it could have been more epic if they squeezed out a 3rd ring.

So that means those 4 straight NBA finals by the Lakers and Celtics in the 80s wasn't that great as well because all they did was win 2 rings in those 4 finals trips. So is that what you are saying?
If it's for the ages:yeshrug: Lakers and Celtics rivalry in the 80s was for the ages:whew:

We'll look back on it as the era that exposed the stupidity of sports fans and media. Also highlighted how many people have no idea how sports leagues work, the racism, and people's jealousy towards black men with power.

Impressive but i enjoyed the lakers run in the late 2000s more and bostons too.. the heat only had one entertaining finals series(the 7 game series). The rest were underwhelming...

It was a run for the ages. Just wish they would have gotten that ring in 2011 against the Mavs to make it even better.

I don't know....I just don't know what would have happened if they won that first ring.

Game 6 against Boston in 2012 might have been the single most pressure-filled game for any superstar, ever. Other than Wilt's game 7, NEVER has the face of the league had more of his legacy riding on a single game. And considering how the media had turned Lebron into this massive villain, I'd say that Lebron might have had even more pressure.

That game was unreal. And it wouldn't have happened that way, or meant nearly as much, if they hadn't lost the year before in humiliating fashion.

Hell, who knows if he could pull it out against the Spurs the next year without experiencing 2011 and 2012 first?

:heh::snoop:
lol This is why yall haters have zero credibility. Ya'll stay doing this funny fraudulent math to hate on LeBron.

They went 4 and 0 "in a weak east" and 2 for 4 against the west. The record in the finals has NOTHING to do with how weak the east is but ya'll always tie the 2 together. Its comical...

Stop being so mean.

to bad lebron couldn't channel that game 6 mentality to the 2011, and 2014 and 2015 finals

This is some of the dumbest posting I've seen in ages pertaining to 2014 and 2015. Let's blame the only guy who played well on his team.

That's what I was going to say.

Even if Lebron was a superman and could have put up a Game 6 (45-15-5 on 70% shooting with half of it long twos!!!) in every game of the 2014 and 2015 Finals, he still might have lost both of them.

Forget that he was putting up 28-8-4 on 60% shooting against the Spurs and still getting blown out because EVERY Spur was shooting 60% from the field and 50% from three. What was he supposed to do...guard their entire team? Take all the shots? The rest of his team played terrible on offense and defense against a team that could not miss.

Forget that Lebron DID channel that Game 6 mentality in the 2015 Finals, averaged a still-insane-sounding 35-13-9 for the series against one of the best defensive teams in the league, and still lost because the Warriors had 9 players better than his 2nd-best player.

Lakers did 3 finals with 2 rings in arguably the toughest conference of alltime :yeshrug:

Arguably the toughest conference of all time. :deadmanny:

Remind me - who was the BEST team the Lakers beat in that 3-year run. The single best team. I'm waiting...

What was their GREATEST performance in a series? What great winning team at full strength did they beat to show that they were really an all-time great team?

They managed to get out of a conference that had a lot of parity in the upper half with no dominant teams. I remember a Houston team whose best player was Ron Artest (second best player was Aaron Brooks!) stretching them to 7 games....maybe would have won if it hadn't been the Artest ejection. Then they take Artest for themselves and make him the FIFTH best player on their own team. :manny:

I remember when a Utah team whose best three players were D-Will, Boozer, and Mehmut Okur was the #4 team in that conference in back-to-back years...conference strength looking mighty suspect in the light. Lakers barely crawled past the Jazz with an overtime win in game 4 and a 3-point win in game 6.

The Spurs (with Ginobli injured), Suns, and Nuggets were the Lakers' three Conference Finals opponents.

The Rockets (with McGrady and Yao hurt), Jazz, and Hornets were their three Conference SemiFinals opponents.

Lost more games than you won against the Celtics...wouldn't have a championship at all if it hadn't been for Garnett getting hurt in 2009 then Perkins going out in 2010.

You needed a Ron Artest buzzer-beater just to get past the aging Suns AND a lucky Pau Gasol put-back to beat a Celtics team who had just lost Perkins.

What a run!!! :skip:

They were great villains for the league, 2011 was amazing..everyone in the world won that day except Miami, but I am glad he won next year..it was way overdue and he deserved it. Wish he stayed with the Heat though and not return to Cleveland this early.

Hell of a run and the greatest run since the one put on by the 80s Lakers (going to 4 straight finals).

Probably the most impressive feat I have ever seen. To be able to win in the face of all that hate from fans, media, players and owners. shyt was our generations Muhammed Ali (in terms of hate) when he came back after having his boxing license stripped from him for refusing to go to Vietnam.

The fukked up part is that the media stirred the pot in the hate and folks forget that those dudes had constant security guards with them the first year. Especially when they went to Cleveland.

shyt got real close to an incident similar to shyt that goes down with athletes in Latin countries like Columbia. When the media using code words and comparing a team to the Taliban and Hitler and ignorant shyt like that you really playing with fire and flamming flames......(check Trump and his campaign).
The Hate was too real. Which makes me chuckle when people like Blackthoughts feel as if Golden State get's too much hate....

:mjlol:

Warriors fans have no ideal.....
