i thought i made a thread about this around the time of the albums anniversary but i guess not.
the album was hit or miss but that prequel mixtape baby.
he was stunting on you an influencing you at the same time.
if i remember right this and the Members Of ByrdGang mixtape dropped the same month in Summer '06
two tapes had a big impact on me.
the Today Was A Good Day - Karlina Kurkova Skit - 4th Chamber run

just Pharrell flexing over a varied selection of beats.
...enjoy and get motivated this Thursday morning.
EDIT-
back in October, Pharrell kind of denounced the tape in his interview with GQ.
"When I went to Japan, I had never met a more humble culture. I was like, These people are so kind, and they have the best taste. Now, at the time [2006], I was still doing, like, my Gangsta Grillz mixtape. I could never listen to it now, because I was bragging so much. I'm so embarrassed by that. I behaved so obnoxiously. But I didn't know no better. And Nigo's way of humility, and Tokyo's way of humility, was seeping into my soul. And then the more I humbled myself down, the less I bragged. The less that I felt like I needed to flex. Humility is a skill set. It's an art form. It's something you work at."
last night at the Dior event in Miami, Push pulled him up on it and got an explanation for it on his IG stories.
I've compiled it and put it up on here....
