Butler averaged 16 and 6, the Lakers would have missed the playoffs in either conference and had a 13-18 record against the East :unimpressed:

Plus, we're talking about making the playoffs here not winning a championship. If Lebron is expected to win the championship with Mo Williams than Kobe can make the playoffs with Lamar Odom and Caron Butler.
Who set those expectations for Lebron? He was the one called the chosen one coming into the league. Kobe although was an ALL American didn’t really have that kind of hype around him like Lebron. I’ll give Lebron his props he’s been legit from day one. It took Kobe a lil longer to develop.

They put the expectations on Lebron giving him the Sports Illustrated at 16 ESPN televising HIGH SCHOOL games. The expectations were not the same. Lebron always been in the driver seat since he been drafted Kobe was a passenger rider Shaq was driving that car. You can’t expect them to have the same expectations because they came into the league differently.

None of that matters. If you’re a top 5 defense even with a bad offense you can pencil in 50 wins regardless of conference.

Tired once they faced the Western Conference teams is crazy. No, those teams simply couldn’t fukk with the Cavs we’re talking about 26-4 record.

Those Cavs teams were really good but you’re hyping it. None of those teams were better than the ‘04 Pistons, ‘06 Heat, ‘08 and ‘10 Celtics. Hence why they only made it to the finals once despite a weak Eastern Conference.

Yeah facts Bron was marketed as the next Jordan and he played into it. Hence why the 6 championships are always brought up.

Kobe was getting called the next Jordan out of high school. I remember because I was there. Even had a Jordan biography I read in 5th grade that said we may never see another Jordan and named a young Kobe as a potential candidate.

A lot of Lebrons hype was because recruiting services and high school rankings was taking off. It wasn’t just LeBron. Sebastian Telfair and Eddie Curry was also getting hype.

Used to watch this every morning before school.

I was there as well I remember the hype around Kobe taking Brandy to his prom etc. His hype still couldn’t compare to Lebrons hype so that was on his shoulders and he exceeded the hype. Back to what I was replying to you the franchise been his since he entered the league: Kobe got the keys after he won the 3 worked hard and became himself. That was his first year without Shaq and Phil under with new teammates in a heavy western conference na he wasn’t making the playoffs.
