I lowkey feel special being able to change the oil, fix a flat tire, replace filters, light bulbs, windshield wipers and the all that extremely basic car maintenance stuff. But 90% of the dudes i went to school with were clueless when it came to that.

I thought everybody knew how. That said, I'm not changing oil more than once in the winter. I'll pay just so to avoid frost bite.

I don't even bother doing mysef anymore, because it costs just as much to buy the oil yourself as it does to pay for a change. plus they top off all the other fluids. Need the price in the store to come down. Literally like $40 to do it myself, or $40 to have some quick lube place do it.

But yeah i was surprised to learn how many people can't do this.

Hate to say this to you, but the push for higher education for dudes between 18 to 25 stagnated growth in other areas of development in terms of fixing things. You may get a degree, but those are the formative years (traditionally) for men to learn how to do relevant things in terms of being self-sufficient. Hard to do that in college when you constantly worry about grades and internships. Also the reason why women don't know how to nurture or even know how to cook meals.
