but they are banned in France

this makes no sense

how can u get a gun when they are banned?

:dwillhuh:

:leostare:

You know that there are underground (illegal) markets for firearms right?

If america quit making guns, u dont think someone would start?

I'm also not saying we stop manufacturing firearms. I'm saying we shouldn't give them to people who are likely to use them improperly. There are tons of manufacturers outside of the States that produce firearms.

What I find interesting are two things 1) how people feel that a constitutional right has to be explained- I don't need to give you a reason to have guns, it is my right. I have more rights to a gun than the right to a car ( which kill more people-over 30,000 per day than guns do- 8,583) 2 I always found it funny how an inanimate object gets blamed for the user's actions. Cars don't get blamed for drunk drivers. Fists and feet (which kill more people than rifles) and knives, which kill more people than shotguns and rifles combined don't have organized movements to villainize their owners or take away their usage. Gun laws mostly impede legal owners. Criminals have a plug into illegal guns.

11 million people die in car accidents each year?:dwillhuh:

And you're addressing the 'can' aspect, not the 'should'. They're two very different questions regardless of their position in the Constitution.

This tells me that this country is scared shytless.

Pretty much.

Current events have a lot of white people paranoid about blacks/Muslims/immigrants/etc so they're more adamant about their guns. Not to mention being more worried about being victims of police brutality (for minorities). This has little to do with any change in people's opinions about guns in general, just the perception of fear. :manny:

People are flaky.
