In an absolute stunner Josh Allen has been named MVP over Lamar Jackson despite not making All-pro first team (First time since 1987)

How is talking about the reality of the voters a hot take?

They change the criteria every year based on the narrative they want to drive. It's always been biased. It ain't scientific and it ain't consistent unless you want to say they give it to one of the #1 seed QBs most years now.

You can say it's a regular season award but that ain't how they act. Every player other than Lamar that got two plus MVP awards has won a Super Bowl. Three would give him more than Mahomes and as many as Brady. It's gonna be damn hard for him to get that without making a Super Bowl. And to be real, he probably got to win one. Especially when playing with loaded rosters. That's just facts. Fair or not.
Because Ravens failure/success doesnt solely rest on one player (Lamar). Theres a reason why the NFL has a saying, any given Sunday. Dont matter if a team has a top 10 offense and defense. Football is the ultimate team sport. A team can play amazing 16 games and shyt the bed in the playoffs. That has nothing to do with the QB. Unless said QB is playing like shyt while the rest of the team is playing to its level. Which hasnt been the case for Lamar.

Like I said, NBA hot takes have ruined NFL convos.

I agree. But I ain't a voter. To say they not taking his postseason disappointments into account is not realistic. They are, and there's voters especially after last year that's not gonna give him the benefit of the doubt again until he gets it done in the postseason.

Y'all never brought up teammates or All-Pros with
Kurt Warner/Marshall Faulk
Patrick Mahomes/Tyreke Hill
Brock Purdy/Christian McCaffery
That was literally used against Purdy last year :dead:

And the only reason it isn't used mors is because the QB who has the all-pros usually blows the competition out of the water

Meanwhile this year, Lamar's numbers were only mildly better than Josh's at best

MVP voting takes place well before the playoffs. How they gonna give it two him twice when he played worse in the playoffs compared to this year where he actually played better this playoff run? :dwillhuh:

I doubt his playoff success has anything to do with it. NFL just wants their white QB king to take the reigns, thats all.

I am saying his past playoff disappointments, especially last year where his defense did their job and he turned in a dud, will be held against him until he gets it done. A lot of them voters don't want him having more MVPs than Mahomes without a ring.

Allen will not win another MVP either unless he wins a Super Bowl.

Some hilarious shyt, isnt it!?!?! 🤣🤣. Mahomes is about to erase his black bloodline, yet he is acting like he is some oppressed entity who is excessively criticized.

The Ravens defense held the Chiefs to 17 pts, including a second half shutout. What more could they have done? So only producing 10 ptsz and throwing a god awful pick,.into triple coverage is not on Lamar?? Whose fault was it, then?

This is a win because what does this mean in reality? That Colin kaepernick was MVP worthy? Sure but what also happens is Josh will get paid more than he's worth. Kiss your superbowl chances goodbye, the money you would have used to better your team is going to MVP Josh Allen. Karma is a bytch :manny:

Zay Flowers, John Harbaugh, Todd Monken, the defense (should have held Mahomes to 10 or less), everyone except the MVP who dropped a dud in the biggest game of the year.

They had a great 2nd half, but the defense put them in a hole early. That game is on the coaches for putting together a gameplan so bad that they all deserved to be fired for it. It was an entire game 9; play calling as bad as Atlanta’s 4th quarter of Super Bowl 51. Imagine Seattle throwing at the goal line but an entire game of being that stupid. That’s what happened in that game.

They were never down more than 10 at any point and they still never tried to establish the run. They called I think 8 designed runs all game compared to roughly 45 pass plays against a great pass rush and a great secondary. 2-3 runs on the opening drive and 5-6 designed runs the entire rest of the way. They were running play action passes when it had been over an hour in real time since they’d run the ball. It made them easy to defend. The flowers fumble at the 1 yard line when he’d already gotten the 1st down and could’ve just secured the ball at that point hurt them pretty bad too.

The ravens issue in the postseason over the course of Lamar’s career is that if he makes any mistake at all then they’re pretty much doomed. Nobody else ever seems to step up and make a big play so that he doesn’t have to be perfect.
