In an absolute stunner Josh Allen has been named MVP over Lamar Jackson despite not making All-pro first team (First time since 1987)

They’re basically separate awards to give a non QB a shot at an award. It would be a QB sweep every yr your way

That's what the media talking heads say. But It's just hard to wrap my head around the concept any given year.

That being said.... An offensive lineman should be OPOY at some point. But the award caters to skill guys that put up highlights as a media/fan service. But we know Many of MVPs or OPOYs would have crumbled with a poor tackle or with a center that didn't make the line calls etc.

Lamar had better stats but they didn’t want to give it to him again with him unable to make it to the Super Bowl

why did lamar have that stupid fumble

Lamar had one of the greatest QB seasons of all time like a combination of Vick and Peyton Manning

These voters voted as if they’d saw the divisional game; no chance they vote like this if Lamar is in the SB

HE WAS ROBBED SIMPLY
BECAUSE HES 1ST TEAM ALL PRO.

MVP NOT BEING 1ST TEAM
IN ANY LEAGUE IS INSANE

That’s why I was shocked he won because once Lamar got 1st Team All Pro, I figured that meant he would get MVP. All season though, the media people were saying Josh was their MVP up until Lamar made 1st team. I wonder if the same media who voted for the All Pro teams voted for the individual awards? Some of them probably didn’t know who to vote for so they voted one for MVP and the other for 1st team.

This is the problem. Voters didn't want to vote for Lamar again. He should have won.

Lamar played better but that's part of "twice as hard for half as much".

Personally don't mind Allen winning the MVP. He earned it

Bills mafia identified :mjlol:

Ravens would be the Tennessee Titans without Lamar just watch em when he’s hurt
The ravens were 1-6 this year when Lamar had a passer rating below 115. For some context to that, 1999 Kurt Warner had a 109 passer rating. 2007 Tom Brady had a 117 passer rating. That’s the level Lamar had to play at to keep the ravens afloat this season. He did that with the worst kicking unit in the league, the 29th average starting field position, a defense that forced I think 15 turnovers all year, a defense that was 26th or worse in every meaningful category except run defense through the first 10 games of the year, with his kicker directly costing them 3-4 games, with his receivers dropping passes at a higher rate than all but 3-4 other quarterbacks, one of the worst pass protecting lines in football, and one of the most penalty prone teams in the league with 3 of his linemen being among the top 10 most flagged players in the league. Not only that, but people in here keep posting the stats too. Lamar was way more productive in every statistical category while having a way harder schedule too.

This mvp is gonna age crazy bad in the next few years. shyt is gonna look worse than the 2002 AL MVP where Soriano, Giambi, and A-Rod missed out to Miguel Tejada.

They'd be around the 8-10 pick range they have a shyt ton of talent
we've seen what they looked like the 2 years Lamar got hurt

both times they had the best record when Lamar got hurt and they lost out and missed the playoffs in 2021 and only won 1 game without Lamar and barely made it as a 7th seed in 2022

U tellin me this like I ain’t know

I’m sayin something is sus about this vote, Lamar was obviously the best player in the league this year; the only excuse would be how many first place votes Derrick Henry got
