I read the article OP and know some folks in that area of chicago that is mentioned in that article.

And many many folks out there were bragging about getting them loans. Messed up part is the folks who got the money weren't even the folks who filled out the paper work. They were paying folks to fill out the info for them. They were paying folks hundreds to thousands of dollars to fill out the forms.

Well...I don't think the cats who did 10k gonna go to jail per se but its certainly fraud so they'll probs fine them the amount plus whatever they decide. This story sounds so familiar lol almost the same shyt happened. there was a high amount of student loans or something being refunded to the same area. The feds got involved and set up a sting to bust a huge crime ring of dummies collecting false loans under different names then withdrawing the student from classes after they got the refund.

they got greedy and started doing like 5 fake students at each house on the same street until Sallie Mae and them got suspicious.

Folks probably would have been better off just trying to get a business line of credit. Ive watched people teaching how to do that all over youtube . Technically that is fraud as well but probably easier to get away with if you put some time into it. I would just claim ignorance in this scenario if you had middlemen doing it for you. Sounds like you had proffessionals telling people it was legal or some type of loophole that could be used. Its dishonest but this is America and how America works. Frauding in order to get rich and stay rich is the foundation of this country.

Hope that 10k was worth it good luck applying at businesses seeing you took some of the money that was meant for them. Will go over well. Applying for a loan, apartment, school, job, and an arrest for covid fraud front and center. That application will go right to the trash bin
