hes clearly much worse now but the pro kd leaving argument would be was he ever good enough as the only other all star on your team. or that kd shoulda stayed because they were close to getting over the hump. it was always headed this way with russ, he cant shoot and he turns the ball over. he cant be a starting role player.

What KD was able to do with Russ as his running mate and no spacing in a stacked af conference :wow: Lebron tried to say "y'all sayin my man can't win? Bet" and ain't even gon get a top 10 seed and miss playin and he got AD, Melo, Dwight, Monk, Bradley too :picard:

Never rely on a man who wear skirts and can't grow proper facial hair by his 30s :wow:

This take was always revisionism.

Take it from a Grizzlies fan who's team was engaged in numerous playoff contests with the Thunder: Russ wasn't this obstacle to Durant.

That series that Durant was tagged as "Mr Unreliable" by the OKC paper.. it was an unfair tag no doubt, but that series showed a lot about Durant. Have an excellent defender (Tony Allen) denying him his spots, and he won't be able to shoot through it, or punish you with passing, or blow by the defender. His percentages tanked. They scraped through in 7 games but had Z-Bo been available, who knows...

Another series when Russ was out with injury, we beat them in 5 games enroute to the WCF finals. Durant wasn't horrible but again it shows the importance of Russ to that team.

The series against the Warriors where they choked a 3-1 lead, that wasn't solely on Russ. It was bad coaching by Brooks no question, but it was also diabolical shooting from Durant.

no WCF appearances :wow: lost to a 68 win team now but was backdoor sweepin 67 win Spurs team wit KD :picard: Russ may not be the same player he is now that he was then but the teams he been on since been way deeper and stronger than those shallow weak rosters wit KD
