So you're saying free agents aren't signing because of the front office? I never said the front office couldn't sign free agents, I said they were inept. L.A should sell itself.
Why would a player risk playing on a team with no front office organization, past shytty coach and now a fairly new one just to live in LA? They are seriously risking their careers with that nonsense and have a chance to lose a spot in the league. There are only so many spots on a team and one bad year can ruin you. They would want to be around players that make them look good or at least have a chance to win and be productive. The Lakers are not that. WTF would anyone go to LA just because it's LA. There are vacations for that.

absolutely. Take a paycut for what? Who cares what shape the team is in when you retire? LaMarcus Aldridge ain't won shyt, why would I take a paycut to bring him in when I got 5 rings without him? He trying ride my back to a ring. He needs to take the paycut.

W/O Kobe FAs would be even less likely to sign than they already have been. He's like the only proven + valuable player on the roster.

Why are we faulting him for not being able to convince FAs to come play with him, a bunch of rookies, Byron Scott and the dysfunctional front office situation they have going on?

Even if Kobe would've convinced LA to sign, would not have mattered, Lakers weren't winning anything meaningful this year regardless.

Dude demanded a trade after he ran Shaq off and seen how hard it was being the only dog. I haven't forgot.
He didn't run Shaq off. You forgot Shaq being fat n slow and out of shape that year? Phil Jackson trashed Shaq more in the papers than Kobe ever did. I used to read em :russ:. And he was injured because of his weight? And Shaq had just as big of an ego as Kobe AND Phil. People discount Phil's ego in this situation as well. nikkas always rewriting history though.

I can't condone taking a paycut. Bron, D Wade, and Bosh took paycuts and had they not won in '12 negus would have been traded and the squad blown up. I do think Timmy is in a unique position however... Being with the SAS his whole career and never bringing drama has all but guaranteed him a lifetime spot in the organization. We see how The Admiral gets treated and Duncan brought more 'chips than he did. I'd imagine none of us understand these type of money moves. M's every year for over a decade. That shyt ain't slight, at all.

:dahell: Why is he referring to Kobe as if he only has 2-3 rings? Dude has 5, same as Duncan.
