Target on LaBrea for necessities + surprise element
Venice Beach/Santa Monica, or Rodeo Drive for the tourist experience and the Gram

And yes the previous poster is right, LA Live gonna be lit. Dress the part(notice what's hip in LA) and have $$ on hand, parking is either $$ or a bit of a stroll tho'

Fox Hills Mall ain't a bad look, but not as reliable for the experience these days.
