Wild shyt is that I was watching the Varnell Hill episodes of Martin a couple of weeks back and was blown away how he stole the show from PRIME Martin back then. That is the only time I’ve seen Martin take a back seat on his own shyt.
I really wonder why his career never really popped off because he wasn’t a bad looking dude and clearly had range as an actor. But In Living Color and the Martin stuff are really his highlights. His character in Strictly Business was cliche and that Coming To America spinoff was a complete fukking disaster

I've always wondered the same thing. You could say the same about David Alan Grier. He's had a OK career, but he is a great actor and he hasn't had a ton of great roles either. DAG killed it on the Carmichael Show though

That shyt kills me every time, just saw that episode a couple of days ago.
I love the skits with Kim Wayans and David Alan Grier....Ceephus and Reecie....that old couple The Brooks, who always try to kill each other ("we STIIIIIIIILLLLLL together").
