Numbers aren't everything but he's already a career 21 PER which is about Allstar level. He had a 23.5 PER last year which is solidly Allstar range and he's only 23. If he is around a 23 PER for the next 5 years thats definitely worth a max contract. You could argue that his numbers are inflated which might be true but even at a deflated level he's worth the max for this team.

Breh, he’s not an All Star, he’s not an All NBA or All Defensive candidate. He doesn’t create for others and doesn’t really create that well for himself. I’m not paying max for that and the other thing you said that’s interesting is max for this team. I want a guy who’s a max player regardless of the the team. I don’t want to shift my expectations of a max guy just because he’s a Hawk
