They crazy if they match that. They'll basically be locking themselves into that core while not having a chance in hell of making the playoffs. They'll be better off doing another tank to get more talent and letting the youngins soak up PT for another year while at the same time maintaining a portion of their cap to make a move once they get better. Only way they match Bogdon is if they can get someone to take Buddy Hield's contract (funny enough, the Hawks are about the only team with space to absorb his contract).

Collins is not at the caliber of either player. Bam is more versatile, more skilled and an overall better player than JC and both him and Ingram are All Stars. Schlenk shouldn’t do a max unless JC really takes his game to the next level

Collins ain’t an All Star. And I’m not even trippin on that b/c he’s played on some awful Hawks teams so far
For what he is, he’s a good fit. But his limitations make me hesitate to give him a max
I agree with @Sly Cookin that he deserves to get paid, but I’m not throwing him a max
Teams with length give him issues. I’m not expecting All NBA first team defense from him but the Hawks have consistently been one of the worst teams in the NBA defensively each of the last 3 years. That’s not al on him but in the interior he’s getting beat. He’s gotta improve that and take that challenge personally night to night
Collins has actually developed a reliable 3pt shot. Coming out of college it wasn’t a shot he really attempted but now he’s a solid knockdown 3pt shooter, one of the best on the team actually so I’m not sure what you’re talking about.
Y’all actin like I’m saying he’s a bum. He’s a good player with elite athleticism, efficient scorer, good teammate but he’s limited by being a below average defender and he’s unable to create offense for himself or others.
As of now that’s not a max player to me but shyt he might go for 25 & 15 and change the conversation completely. But as of now I’m not maxing that production out
I don’t think JC has empty stats but he’s gotta elevate his game to a new level this year. I think he’s capable of being a better scorer off the dribble, being a better facilitator and improving defensively.
Im hoping he’s focused and has a big year for us

If it's me, I wait till the end of the season just because it doesn't hurt to get as much info as we can. I want him to get a jaylen brown deal. I wouldn't give him fox or tatum money unless he balls out all year. No injuries no suspension no excuses
