Original for me...its my favorite Jay song...and one of the reasons he's one of my GOATS.
I put that song on whenever I dont feel like putting in work.
He dropped so many lines about coming up, and showed you where his head has always been at.
I don't hassle with capsules, cause that'll make the grass grow
And get a project nikka paid up the a$$hole (fukk a job, that only gets some other muthafukker rich)

You know it's always interesting to look at him during that period. Most of that shyt explains why he couldn't get a deal at the time. His shyt was super bang bang bang type battle rap. There's crazy/bars flow but the song concepts and shyt aren't quite there. You can see how heads like Kane would listen to him freestyle likesome of that pre RD shyt is
and try and help him get signed, but the image and narratives weren't there. He got better and better at it from 94-96 though. More life experience? Certain types of records (like Illmatic and Wu and Mobb, Gang Starr, Cube and Biggie shyt) probably helped him along the way.
