Worth it more than ever.

Even rich white people who don’t need degrees go to college. I’ll believe all of these “you don’t need college “ narratives when the elites stop bribing colleges to get their kids in. They only sell the ‘you don’t need college’ narrative to the poor and non-whites.

Aint it wild?

White folks out here bribing people to get their kids into college. Dismantling the Dept of Education. Even filing federal lawsuits to take minority scholarships away. But nikkas online telling black kids "college aint worth it anyways" lol

Worth it more than ever.

When jobs get tight it’s the people with more education with technical degrees who are favored and get paid more than everyone else.
Nope, they’re gonna want skills and experience, you need to be more valuable than AI. A degree won’t guarantee that, and if college keeps getting more expensive, no way paying $400k for a degree makes sense when entry level workers will be devalued and roles more scarce.

This! This man knows wtf he's talking about. Think I've mentioned it on here but my old office fought to get AAMU, FAMU, and NCA&T in on a $1BN Dept of the Army STEM/R&D investment on Redstone. They even got the Marshall Space Flight Center to tag along on it. Built Georgia Tech a state of the art campus right out the main gate of the base. There's a reason the sheer number of PhD's in that area is one of the highest per capita. Black folks can make a killing there. I've seen it with my own eyes
Yeah, but I'm hearing stories of white tech bros from Silicon valley trying to relocate down there for cheap property (in the Madison area and near Huntsville). So you only got a small window to get your foot in the door. Once those clowns touch down they change the culture of the area and next thing you know barely any black folks get hired for anything.

I was offered the nuke program but went with the advanced electronic computer field and became a fire control man (FC) . Shoulda coulda lol
Damn. You missed out on guaranteed employment. Nukes are the biggest winners of this Data Center push. Almost every nuke I knew is pulling in 6 figures working at a data center (either as a facilities technician or facilities engineer). Those who didn't go data center went and worked as nuclear instrumentation and controls engineers anre are also making 6 figs. Some of these guys weren't even that smart fr.

I don't know about UC Berkeley or whatever but yea there are alot of CS majors who are struggling to find work. The hiring practices of these tech companies play a major role. You have to do 3+ rounds of technical interviews solving near impossible leetcode problems, then multiple rounds of non-technical interviews. You can answer all the questions right and they'll still ghost you. It's a retardedly (not a word) long, exhaustive, nonsensical process.

Here in NYC I know a guy who has been job hunting for over a year after sending out thousands of applications. It's a retarded industry.

My favorite part on my resume is the “Education” section. My resume is one of my favorite files on my computer because of that section. I’m really I happy I pushed through it and now nobody can take it away.

I legit feel bad when I see people try and fill in that spot with something because they didn’t finish. I was familiar with that feeling before. I had to go back to school and make it right.

It’s maybe the best feeling in the world to reflect on that accomplishment and knowing I’ll never have to answer that “Why didn’t you finish school?” question ever again. No automatic filter to worry about. None of that.

The same thing I’d imagine applies to Military service.

It must be great feeling to those who have both.

To anyone who’s going through the school grind, keep your focus on how much you’ll gain afterward, it’s worth it.

Agriculture is gatekept by white men. Highly gatekept.... otherwise I would've brought up precision agriculture and ioT.
That’s interesting cause I feel like that’s probably one of the less talked about professions while being one of the most important
And it’s going to be even more important in the future

I can tell a company my background in Math and can program A.I’s on a level people who don’t know Math as well. I can get closer to the details and “closer to the metal” than those without a technical degree, period.

I can verify the output by A.I and make sure it’s right then spin up 10+ A.I agents on a specific task I know is the right direction to go while someone else has no idea what the Math the original response was about. They’re only falling more behind exponentially as my 10+ A.I agents are going to work on a specific task.

I’m done with my tasks for the day while someone else is still stuck on trying to understand what the first Matrix transformation is trying to do much less the output from the 10+ agents.
I want to learn more math to understand the inner workings of AI, but am in early 30s and think it may be easier to just get an MBA with a AI concentration.

Do you think that'd be enough? Or does the technical skills stand out more? I already work close to AI (helping develop our internal strategy, make some investments) but keep getting stuck on which road to take.
