It would be impossible to occupy the entire interior of the US. We’d just retire to some remote area of the upper Great Lakes away from any major cities. There is nothing of value that anyone would want up there.

Even if there was a worldwide united front from non-allies to try an infiltrate the US, they gotta actually GET here first.
That's a logistical nightmare. Attempting to cross the two largest bodies of water on the planet (Pacific, Atlantic) in search of war, against the greatest Navy in the history of the world, is suicide.

No foreign boots will ever reach our soil. Missiles and bombs though is another story.
We don't have to worry about either though, I think China and Russia have both figured out that cyber warfare is the next battle field and would more likely try to figure out a way to make us third world country status without a single act of bloodshed.
