I haven't worked since 2012, having everyday be Saturday can suck sometimes, especially during the summer. I live in NYC and just hang out in Manhattan most days during the summer. Most out of towners probably think I'm living the life, living in NY, early 30s, has a income but doesn't work and has a lot of free time, but not really.




I think I would love it if I had more disposable income. SSI restoration act needs to be passed

American economy is based on consumption and debt. If people arent engaging in commerce the whole thing fails. Hunters and gatherers were still working. You're delusional if you think you gonna live a life of leisure on your "UBI". Especially one that would be provided by the taxes imposed on the capitalist that own the A.I.

The "AI" bubble will pop like the dotcom bubble. Obviously websites continued to exist after that bubble popped, but gone was the sense of "Just get something dotcom and you'll be rich!"

A.I. is definitely in an acceleration phase. There is will come a time when progress stagnates for a while. However, given where current models are now and where their headed in the near future they'll be able to automate a significant portion of the economy.

This isn't necessarily doom posting. I think the eradication of human labor is good thing IF accompanied with UBI.
