You literally sound exactly like the truckers I was taking about. We are probably a good 2 years away, not centuries. Breh, if you don’t have hands on with automation yourself, please don’t speak on it. Computer handle variables a million times better than a human.
2 years? :deadrose: You are not getting that in two years without taking human drivers off the streets. And that's no diss at automation at all. It's inept drivers I'm dissing. Automated vehicles will not survive with them in the mix. I think you being hands on is blinding you a bit to reality.

2 years! :dead: We'll agree to disagree.

If I get paid the equivalent of what I make now to not work I would be happy lol.

You got it. But please be sure to come back to this thread when you’re in shock at the automation in the trucking industry and everywhere else in a few years…

Go get an Arduino, build you a couple mock-roads with tons of obstacles, tell your computer to scale the course for the real world, and tell me what it does. I’ll wait…

The fact that it’s 2023 and people can’t wrap their heads around this basic (basic nowadays) technology just reconfirms for me why I make so much more money in comparison to most people I know (no brag). Yall better wake up real fast…
States not gonna allow that shyt no time soon breh. And even if they did you still gotta have somebody in the truck to unload it

They barely have enough materials to make batteries for electronic vehicles.

There are a lot of dangers related to AI and it will change all of our lives. That doesn’t eliminate the need for human labor.

None of us will be fully replaced in our lifetimes unless there is a radical reimagining of power grids/power generation and robots become self replicating and self-sustaining. That’d be some matrix shyt and again not happening in our lifetimes. We can’t even get off fossil fuels.

It will never take over trucking or driving jobs any time soon because you'd need to fully remove human drivers from the streets. A slew of driving variables kills the chance for success. 80% of the variables go away if they literally have their own lane. We are probably a good 2 centuries away from something like that. At least here in the States.
Lol at 2 centuries away. I do agree that autonomous vehicles may take a minute. But I don't see why this tech couldn't be achieved with the next decade or so.

My point is just because the tech exists doesn't mean any implementation will be successful. Folks keep getting hung up on 'technology exists'. It likely exists now! But if it won't be placed in a world where ut will function properly it doesn't mean squat.

Everybody will be working at places like UPS, Amazon, and FedEx until they can figure out how to build a robot that can load/unload trucks.

I'm gonna make drugs out of synthetic oil and sell it to the robots. Then make digital drugs and sell it to AI.

You may be right on the first part but a human just needs to receive the delivery to unload it and automation can even handle that.
Edit: A quick google search even has multiple sources saying driverless automation of 18 wheelers was slated to start this year but the pandemic delayed it a bit. y’all gotta recognize the type of tech that has been out here for a very long time now so long that it has been pretty much perfected

.
If you ever messed around with full home automation, bots on computers , or robots, then know exactly what automation is capable of, from all angles
