Jay’s hits was poppin in the bay area to a degree. When i was a kid hard knock life, izzo, and a bunch of other joints was getting play in the streets. We respected the rocafella movement out here but we support our own artists more in the bay. To be real we was rocking with the south heavy. Cash money was huge out here

And the chronic was bigger in Cali than illmatic & ready to die combined, but why is this news? It's obvious

The 90s cowboys were more popular in Texas than the 90s 49er teams...shocking

Michael Jordan is the most popular athlete in Chicago.

Gucci was the streets at one point. Only Keef and Lil Wayne was as big in the streets as him.

He was...

Gucci ran the mixtape circuit from 2006-2012.

Cats like myself used to have IPods full of Gucci Mane tapes from LiveMixtapes and DatPiff.

It's crazy how everyone used to call him wack but the newer generation salutes him more nowadays than Jeezy's Eggnog lookin azz.

Master P was the Down South E-40...

He knew how to Hustle his music and said the same things as Jay but in a country drawl.

Funny how the South gives Jay-Z flack but he was one of the main NY cats who actually respected the South and saw a goldmine down there.

He was bumping UGK before anyone else did.
