We don’t eat it combined like that and cooked together…. But yeah we have the quimbombó on the side or tomatoes with meat and end up combine it and eating it together afterwards. A lot of times when we eat it it’s with beef in a sauce as well. So just pour the bistec en salsa on top.
Oh you wanna take it there with the arepas, them mejicanos are the gods with this cornmeal game. So many dishes it’s insane."Harina del negrito" in DR/PR. Venezuela and Colombia are the goats with cornmeal though they make a meal called "arepa".but there are various versions there is sweet, there is savory. There is even a version thats like pancakes called "cachapa".

Exactly they basically made dishes of whatever was available and whatever the spaniards let them have which was usually scraps. So a lot of indigenous food got mixed in with the scraps. Like for example cow tongue tacos. Etc etc.Yeah I thought this strictly Caribe…. But once you extend it over to Venezuela and Colombia it’s different.
My Grandpa use to always have a plate of Pitimi with Poulet en Sauce ready for me whenever I visited him.Looks like mayi moulin for Haitians.
