:rudy: its a legit question, don't act like Mike Tyson didn't have video games, and cartoon characters based on him, he had record PPV numbers too
Tyson was a force of nature, unless your aiming at Jordan being less popular then :manny:
Doggy, the only person i could think of that was more popular than Michael Jordan was probably Michael Jackson.
And thats coming from someone who didnt live in the U.S. until i was freakin 14 or 15. At the same time I had never heard of Tyson until he got knocked out by that bum (cant recall the name). Granted, I was not into boxing but fact is most of the world watch soccer and basketball more than they do boxing.

:what:

That's a complete lie. Boxing was one of the most popular sports in the world and had a MUCH BIGGER global draw than basketball. Going back to Manilla and Zaire. Maybe you were living in a hole if you never heard of Mike until he got knocked out.

Homie, i doubt boxing was ever top 5 worldwide, PERIOD. At least not since the 80s. Hell Cricket might be more popular than boxing in a lot of areas in the world

Oh of course .... If you drop them in a country where boxing is eXtremely popular like the Phillipines. Soccer who is the UNDISPUTED most popular sport in the world would take a back seat to Cricket in India. But WORLDWIDE??? Aint even close, B. Boxing doesnt make top 5, period.

You're just wrong. Thrilla in MANILLA...fights in zaire? Tyson lost his belt to a sellout crowd in japan. The kitchkos fill STADIUMS in germany....nah breh...

Heavyweight champ of the world especially if american is bigger than whatever you compare it to...especially then. Basketball wasnt even global like that until dream team 1 taught nikkas how to ball

In America.... easily Jordan
In the world.... easily Tyson
You got that backwards yo.

I knew the name Michael Jordan before i knew a single word of English and I was not a basketball fan at the time. Most of my friends are either foreign born from Caribbean, Africa , the Americas, and some European or second generation American. Most would go Jordan because when it comes down to it boxing hasnt had that international appeal in a looong looong time

Boxing had appeal during Tyson's heyday.

I'll say this...if phil knight could change anything in life outside of the death of steve prefontaine it would be the injury of bo jackson
Yeah, if dude could have gotten 5-6 more years at peak level playing both sports. Man idk, it woulda been insane. I really can't wrap my head around it. Nike football has never really replaced Bo Jackson.

There is a generation of kids who have no idea about Bo Jackson. I was lucky to catch the end of his popularity, but unlucky to see the :flabbynsick: version of dude in Chicago and Anaheim. :to:
