and even the year he led the league in scoring, he dialed back on the long twos in favor of more threes. He was letting the long ball fly at a career high rate that season

The midrange is the most efficient jump shot. Ifg you have a midrange, you're deadly for years after your athleticism is gone. Dudes pass on the midrange to drive to a crowded lane, when a deadly pull up would make it all easy.
