But thats the thing too. Was he traveling to different territories? How old was he? Was he still able to go in the ring? Did he open a school? Sweet Daddy Siki opened a school here in Toronto years ago. He very well could have been the prototype, but if he didnt evolve with the times its easy to get left behind.

I think another element is that we the audience have minimalized the history of wrestling to primarily WWE and WCW/Crockett. Most of us act like if they didnt get there they didnt make it.
You also need to take into account how much of that was actually him. Rufus R Jones was most likely a turned up Carey L. Lloyd, but Dusty Rhodes was a gimmick of Virgil Runnels.

Man just googling him, he had a better career then most. He's also Slicks step father. He had some outside investments, and Martey Janett talks highly about learning the entertainment portion of wrestling from him.

We have way more British footage and from what's out there (at least from what I've seen at least), French catch is more all encompassing. French catch has more of a mix in terms of grappling and flippy shyt compared to WoS British wrestling, which was more of a catch-as-catch-can grounded style. As @stro mentioned, it's pretty mind breaking to watch these little dudes from France pull off a TON of moves that people today go :ohhh: thinking it's a new athletic feat when people were doing gymnastic style playfighting 70 years ago.

We need the DVDVR/PWO crew to unearth a 10 disc comp of LePetit Prince :wow: that dude was a beast.

Watching the French footage completely destroys any narrative around the good ol' "these new kids don't know how to work" argument :russ: them frehs were doing Will Ospreay matches 7 decades ago :dead:

I think the easiest way is to use Segunda Caída, where you can read reviews and see what might interest you. Just click on any match and it will lead you to the review, which also has a link to the match.

If you just wanna surf around stuff, you can check directly on this Youtube Channel (it has more than just French Catch): Matt D Youtube Channel
