The movie was great until the horrible ending...that shyt was just like boom! here we are, the end (no spoilers for those that saw it)...felt like a rush job

They didn't want to have the REAL ending. The real ending is that J Reid commits suicide.

In real life the actual J. Reed (Jeff Coy) committed suicide and GOD aka Darryl Whitings is still serving his life sentence.
