He could be a main eventer if Vince wanted to push him there considering he's already reached that level but it probably wont happen if it hasn't by now. Just like Ziggler Sandow etc. another guy who is over will sadly have a "what if" type of career.

If they turn him heel and give him his bully gimmick back or at least let him show his personality like he did when he was with Axel...he could be in a much better position than he is now.

Ryback is not over because this company is inept and only wants to use clique based template draws.
When, they used the template draw that made sense for ryback.
The Goldberg win streak gimmick ryback was over and had a rocket on his back.

They kinda sent a message that failed to Goldberg.
As ryback was over by just simply plugging in a template that they owned from wcw that worked.
when, they saw it worked.
They had to shut it down cause now it opens up Pandora box.
