Spending and not investing :ohhh::patrice:

It didn't really say that. The article was conveying that African-Americans (and other members of the Diaspora) living in the US were making more money and spending with a purpose that would be beneficial. Unfortunately, we may not have the full picture until we (late Generation X and Millenials) begin to, hopefully, reach our golden years when we're at our twilight and ready to pass off any wealth we've accumulated.

What it did say that is we consume a lot of media and our social media/internet presence is huge.

Decent read.

Edit.... Oh Canada....

This data will be used to target our community in order to siphon out the money that was hard earned ....

We need to be consumers of our own products, businesses, and media....

Easier said than done though :mjcry:

Or maybe, just maybe black entrepreneurs can use this info to their advantage.

The way most black people (online, for what it's worth) have fallen out over the Wells Fargo Latino/White Hispanic Economic Stimulus Plan(because that what it really is), you'd think that capitalist America is done with the African American Community.

They'll never stop keeping tabs on us. Gotta make sure we stay at the bottom.

i think the article speaks to our collective spending power. my takeaway is that if concentrated and if we practiced cooperative economics, we can create millions of jobs for ourselves and have strong economic fortification.

domestic terrorism aside, would you consider what black wall street had as strong?

For the tiny percentage of Blacks who lived there? Sure but for the overall Black populace, it wasn't.

Where does it say that? This article is ONLY about consumption.

I should have just rephrased that to what percentage of all that wealth is flourishing in our community & how much do we consume of our own ? That's basically what I meant, because number 9 didn't answer that for me like I though it would ...

Investing/saving habits and business/job creation are different studies. The Department of Labor should have that at some point.
