ATL…overly
If I remember correctly the year the Celtics won the title (or atleast made it back to the Finals) they were a 1 seed and got taken to 7 games by the Atlanta Hawks as an 8th seed.. They looked awful and uninspired in some of the games they lost..I keep warning people about wanting to write the eulogy for this Pacers team...They have too much talent to just count out...

But that Celtics team was a 60 win juggernaut who didn't have an end of season collapse & had legitimate superstar players. That playoff series vs. ATL was the first time they had all been in the playoffs as The Big 3 so they were still learning how to win together.

There's no legit excuse for the sorry sack of shyt that Indy has turned into...most of us knew they were overrated but this is essentially the same team that went to Game 7 of the ECF last yr. but then again I think some of y'all were overrating this team, look at this roster again, it's not as good as some of y'all like to think it is

True, and I thought about this very thing. But that Hawks team was young and played inspired. This Hawks team just won a game in which they shot 38%. The way the Pacers have played for the last couple months is approaching Lebron James' two game disappearing act against the Celtics in Cleveland levels of inexplicability.
IMO theres some crazy behind the scenes story here. gambling, some player fukking teammates wives/girlfriends, etc. teams just dont fold up like this in an instant. something is going on in that locker room under the radar. they are something like 11-34 against the spread in their last 45 games. that is quite an outlier when the spread is essentially an 50/50 barometer, give or take a few percent each way with variance. their against the spread run is much, much worse cutting the sample of games down to more recent games

And even with us being up in the series we've STILL missed alot of layups and open shots.

why are we comparing the heat/celtic to this squad...the heat never played uninterested basura basketball like indy in that series at all. having their lynch pin player degenerate and possibly having to sit.

looks like 7-28 since the all star game against the spread. 2 of those covers came in games most of, or the entire starting lineup was benched. so the starters are 5-28 since the all star break. :beli:the odds of only 5 covers over a span of 33 games is roughly 1 in 35000 ish

So you'd say those steep odds indicate someone is on the take?

id guess either on the take, or teammates quitting on each other due to real personal beef. i cant recall a team ever going into the tank like this literally overnight, when they had zero health issues over that time frame. only question is whether after the season said issue comes to light

On Jalen's latest podcast he is insinuating that Lance is at the root of all the Pacers issues...

He said on the Evan Turner fight "When you fight the new guy, it means that the other 13 guys just wanted to do it and used Turner as the sacrificial lamb"

Word is that once Lance got snubbed for the all star game he went into IDGAF mode and he is the person Hibbert was talking about in reguards to selfeshness...

That infamous "NYC Cancer" that we all experienced in our little league teams and college fraternities strikes again

Reminds me of a Villanova team a while back where Corey Fisher bagged Scottie Reynolds' girl and got her pregnant allegedly so they got into a scuffle and Jay Wright benched both of them on the eve of the tourney. Team was never the same
