I booked a hotel for me and my wife's honeymoon cruise back in 2009. It was a Ramada in Ft. Lauderdale. We check in and it is owned by Indians. We get to the room, immediately get a refund and my wife booked us a room at the Embassy Suites. She looked at me and said "You had ONE job, to book us a nice clean room."

They have owned most of the choice hotel brands ive stayed at, and ive honestly never had a bad experience with them.

I suspect its based on ethnicity. Gotta remember they are insanely diverse. We tend to view 1 billion people as a generic "Patel" like in the tweet but there are cultural differences between the gujaratis in the article vs marathis vs dhalits in south.

I think they subdivide into different attitudes based on their region of india. Id assume its similar to how people in a place like south Africa or ghana are generally welcoming, whereas Africans on the same continent from Somolia or Ethiopia hit you with the
