STFU and discuss the article. Trolling this thread ain't good for you.

sorry to answer your question. No they can't continue forever. Honestly based on stories from friends who've been there i'm surprised a plague hasn't already taken hold in certain areas.

It's crazy that India has a bigger population than either Africa or Europe. You can even add the U.S, Canada, Australia, New Zealand to the total population of Europe and India would still have more people.

What accounts for the population explosion of certain countries like China and India?

What do you think? :shaq: Strong cultural identity+strong marriage culture+nothing to do = crazy amounts of kids. I mean seriously, what else is there to do for entertainment on a Wednesday night after laying the topsoil+water in the rice paddies :youngsabo: :steviej: And for people talking about half the world will be Chinese or Indian hasn't traveled yet. Two Indians can mate and produce a mulatto look-a-like very easily.

It's quite facinating once you think about it. I wonder what the rate of multiple births (twins, triplets, etc) are in India?

They make up 1/7th of the earths population. Should they not be included in discussion?

There aren't a billion Indians that are worth discussing so that's irrelevant. We are here.. we can talk about everyone.. # of times we bring them up Just seems odd is all.

I was in india a few months ago, there are way too many people over there. I was in a rural area but when I stepped foot in any big city there is people all around you.

Why there are so many people is because of the lack of education, you have the families who are homeless that have 6-7 kids, and those kids also end up having 6 or 7 kids. thats why the population has exploded.
there are condoms over there, but if you cant afford to eat how can you afford condoms?

Does that explain why most Indian women I have come across have smelly pussies?

Cultural differences + lack of education + lack of access to contraception, I think. A combination of education and easy access to contraceptives would probably have a bigger effect than any other reasonable measure. You have to remember, most of the people in both of those countries are not living in cities (or at least weren't until very recently)- most of the population is rural, living in formerly low-density areas, and having a lot of kids for the aforementioned reasons. Then a lot of those people are the ones moving into the cities, causing the urban growth. Things are different with the more longstanding urban populations.

on top of that it's not really an aberration or a new thing... if I remember correctly India and China have always had very large populations. Probably because they already had large scale stable sociopolitical institutions way before a lot of other sparsely developed places

I work with 70% Indians at my job... Everyone is an engineer :snoop:

India needs to start serious population control cuz them plagues coming... There's a reason all these new strains of bird flu keep turning up in Asia. Africa has actually seen a decrease in population growth dunno why the message ain't getting thru in Asia. :manny:

Kolkata was crowded, but nothing like Delhi and Bombay. Both made me closterphobic as hell(Delhi and Mumbai). There were some nice parts of both cities. Where my gf's family has a townhouse was pretty nice and on a golf course. Still, even the nice areas aren't developed world nice yet. As my gf says, there's just a film in the air that covers everything. You can see it in all of our pics. The smells and sights are overwhelming to the senses, whether they be good or bad. Incredible scenery and some architectural, art and historical marvels. You can even see the progress going on. But damn, there was a lot of poverty. Really, really sad to see the human condition like that for so many. Also sad how upper classes treat these people like dirt too. Just nothing to compare it to in the US.
