How does this make you a plant? Tiller is a 1 album wonder

Harlow has been on since he got 1 with what’s popping

Tiller was a 1 album wonder like 8 years ago breh. Lil Baby wasn’t poppin then either but now he one of the hottest rappers out too
The point I’m making is Jack Harlow didn’t have any type of buzz in his own city he got on with a manufactured hit(What’s Popping)

Every artists in the history of music who’s had a hit song and is signed to a label, hit is manufactured. That’s the whole point of being signed to a label, they supposed to promote and try to manufacture hits

I’ve never been around Memphis

Did people know Glo was signed to Yo gotti before they did the public signing on the plane?

It's impossible for a "plant" to come from Memphis. I can give you the actual come up path for any rap artist from here. It's impossible to be fake and make it from the M.

For example:

Glorilla has been doing songs that made local noise and this cypher with other female Memphis rappers is what really blew up in 2021. This is a female anthem word for word. Hitkidd the producer really pushed it organically on social media. Gloss Up (who signed with QC) is also on the song along with K Carbon (signed to Pooh Shiesty's Choppa Gang)

Then she came with a remake of Moneybagg Yo's "Don't Kno" in February

Then of course FNF hit in April and the streets immediately grabbed it too.

And yeah, people know who people are in talks with if you're connected

An industry plant is the same thing as a waitress in 1950 being discovered by record exec and then blowing up, the only difference is now they lie and say it was organic. Lots of artist meet important people and still don't get signed , some people get lucky but they still have to make a good first impression

What's poppin was promoted not manufactured, now first class was manufactured and only a hit due to payola and playlisting, The crowd be dead when he performs it and Fergie had to save him at the vmas

I’m not saying she didn’t have to show and prove

I’m saying when her music was blowing up she wasn’t connected to anyone publicly

So Stevie Nicks is an industry plant? Because that’s her story

Harlow isn’t a plant, he just has a giant industry push behind him so his sustained “buzz” isn’t organic. It’s forced by design..

his path getting there was legitimate tho so he defeats the plant allegations. He’s a semi decent - half garbage white rapper from Kentucky that’s been around since like 2014. He didn’t get that deal with Drama until 2018, and the ball started rolling

Had failed singles with Cyhi and others, But once the powers figured they could market him after what’s poppin caught fire, that button was pushed. Once they push the button and the marketing campaigns follow, nothing is really organic anymore.. but his path to get there was

Through my work as a stylist and being around certain circles, I’ve been around dude when he was a geeky mixtape rapper doing YouTube freestyles. He didn’t just spawn into the game with overnight records like y’all seem to believe. He’s been around lol

Y’all nikkas don’t know fukking shyt. A plant is simply someone who claims to be independent, later on to find out they’ve been funded by a label. Manufactured hits are being paid promo through the label why is that such a hard concept I’ll never know

The plant shyt doesn't really bother me unless it's someone like Chance where the narrative runs OT about him being a scrappy independent underdog when it's clear he isn't. Just don't be flagrant with the shyt like that.

Otherwise who gives a fukk.

That's because all her songs blew up organically like all Memphis artists.

She got with CMG AFTER it was already taking off on its own on Facebook and TikTok.

Saweetie was actually the first major industry connect after it blew up on social media

So nah, it's no plant and no industry push that blew her or any rapper from Memphis up
