The downside was it had no Ether. We wanted P to make Ether before Nas. We wanted to see P edge Jay and that just didnt happen. The subliminals weren't enough...That lack of having Ether for Jay Z is what the Infamy album was lacking.
When he threatened to wrap Jay up like a package that was somewhat like Ether :prodigylol:

I was in denial too

But P had a good argument for going at Jay. P was going at Jay for that "Ny been soft since Snoop" line. And people forget P actually had the edge....Shyt talking on mixtapes. Then the summer jam screen. Then P getting robbed. P had a lot of redeeming to do after getting robbed and Jay clowning. Jay was distracting from the original argument and it worked. Jay actually convinced people P was once in a tutu. Canibus got beat up by Blinky Blink for disrespect. Cuban Linx got his face slashed from beef with Joe. 50 Cent was getting stabbed up by Murder Inc goons. P was supposed to leave Jay Z slumped somewhere as a message. Slumped but still breathing. His rep was on the line like West Indian Archie. Atleast Nas was able to put a dent in Jay Z lyrically. We were fooled by the Keith Murray rumors but Ps tough talk was never the same after Jay went untouched after the ballerina shyt.

If you listen closely, P was actually dissing Jay practically the WHOLE album :russ:

It was just mostly through subliminals but P was heated on that shyt. Listen to Clap and Kill That nikka again :ehh:

But you right, No Ether. No outright calling out Jay and barring him the fukk up like P was capable of

This is in my top 3 Mobb albums though. Always thought it was slightly underrated in their catalogue

exactly...the whole album is P going at Jay. But he doesnt take Jay out doing that. So it makes that approach look off. Like a lot of huffing and puffing and u supposed to be one of the guys who responed to Pac while he was alive. Plus this album was when P was starting to lyrically slouch. Plus that being robbed shyt was hanging all over this albums promotion.

I love how straightforward Prodigy's verse was on that song. He went from talking about drinking hell juice and rhyme labyrinths to starting his verse with "You a bytch ass nikka, I'll have you killed." :mjlol:

"My jewels, my whip, my rims be bytching." :deadmanny:

"fukk all them nikkas, buck all them fakkits." :deadrose:

Mobb set the bar so high that even on there decline and there worst, dusted out they shyt on rappers projects. Thats what seperates the top of the top tier number 1 legends to the rest. If this is mobbs worst shyt its still pretty good as opposedto other legends shyt whereas wen other legends are garbage there really garbage and dont drop nothing but garbage albums musically. Infamy is a 3/5 album def one of there worst albums. Bumping this right now cuz of this thread and its better now then last time i heard it:obama:

A lot of great songs on this, love P’s verse on “Nothing Like Home”. The highs are high, the lows are low on this one, ranked lower for me in their discography
